South African National Accreditation System (B-BBEE)
The B-BBEE certification in South Africa evaluates businesses based on five key elements:
(1) Ownership;
(2) Management Control;
(3) Skills Development;
(4) Enterprise and Supplier Development, and;
(5) Socio-Economic Development
Requirements for B-BBEE certification differ by entity size.
· Requires businesses to be registered in South Africa,
· Have valid tax clearance and,
· Undergo verification by an accredited agency.

Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE)
A Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) certification is granted to businesses that:
(1) are at least 51% owned, as well as independently managed and controlled by one or more women or, for a publicly owned business, at least 51% of the stock is owned by one or more Women;
(2) the business must be a profit for enterprise and formed or have its principal place of business in South Africa.
